A King's Embassy for Kingswood
Could you be a Principal Friend for a new generation?
Rekindling the Flame
Freedom Church Bristol was planted in Kingswood’s soil in 2017 with a burning call: to re-establish an evangelical Wesleyan presence in the very place where the Evangelical Revival was born. A local ministry with national and international significance, we are longing and labouring for a rekindling of the flame that was sparked here 300 years ago.
Rebuilding the Walls
As Christ’s ambassadors, we believe the time has come to establish a permanent Embassy, a base of operations to our work and retell the story of one of the Lord’s greatest works in history to those both near and far. Having outgrown rented premises, the time has come to secure a permanent Embassy from which to function. We are moving to reclaim our heritage and establish a fixed base for mission, providing a common strategic vision for the future.
Redigging the Wells
Kingswood is the spiritual well through which the Great Awakening flowed from America into Britain in one of the greatest revivals this world has ever known, and then flowed back to America as John Wesley sent missionaries there. In our nation - and indeed our world - once profoundly shaped by all the Lord did then, we stand in need of the wells being reopened in our day. That is our prayer and our passion.
Could you be a ‘Principal Friend’?
In 1748, Wesley looked to his ‘Principal Friends’ to finance the original Kingswood School. Today, we are looking for a new generation of partners to help us reach our initial goal of £500,000 towards our strategic vision: a local church and international hub for warm-hearted discipleship, Christ-compelled mission and fervent revival prayer for the next great awakening.
